‘‘If You’re Happy and You Know It’’ (2023) was an installation piece and the fruit of a three-year-long exploration conducted by Craig Sinclair. I was asked to perform with, within, and through this nightmarish space. Craig and I created a character- Granny, lost, both, in time and her own memories, desperately clinging to any moment of relief that remembering gives her.

Working with Craig is always a wonderful journey through my own fears, prejudices, dreams and hopes. We tried to create an experience that is not simply scary or utterly sad but rather inviting for people to hang their own memories on the walls and then reflect on their own mechanics of remembering, on the bittersweet nature of nostalgia.
